Welcome to the Gidgegannup Men's Shed
The Gidgegannup Men’s Shed is a community-based Men’s Shed that provides opportunities for men and women to work on projects of their own, join in Shed activities and tasks, or just share time, recreation and fellowship with other members.
The Gidgegannup Men’s Shed is part of the nation-wide network of Men’s Sheds in Australia, and more and more world-wide. This collection of Sheds is supported by Men’s Shed of WA (MSWA) and the Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA). In this network, members are welcome to drop into any Shed and feel at home to spend some time, find out local information, or maybe fix something that needs attention.
We hope that you will find useful information in the website that shows how we support our members. Please get in touch if you feel we can be part of your lifestyle or undertake tasks that help you in your day-to-day life.
New members and men and women interested in who we are and what we do are very welcome any time, so feel free to drop us an email to membership@gidgegannupmensshed.org.au .

AWARD FOR GIDGEGANNUP MEN’S SHED
Last Friday, 21st October, Gidgegannup Men’s Shed was honoured to receive the 2022 Community category award in the Resilient Australia Awards. A ceremony was held at the Gidgegannup Men’s Shed, at the Ian Stannard Pavilion, to recognise winners and highly commended recipients.
The WA awards were presented by Hon Stephen Dawson MLC, Minister for Emergency Services, and Emergency Services Commissioner, Darren Klemm AFSM.
Details of the awards and a list of recipients can be found here.
The Minister’s media page described the men’s shed achievement as:
“A community social group born from the despair caused by a major bushfire is one of four Western Australian initiatives recognised in the Resilient Australia Awards.
The Gidgegannup Men’s Shed was created to help the local community recover following the Wooroloo bushfire, which swept through the area in February 2021.
The facility, open to both men and women, won the Community category in the 2022 national awards.”
The ceremony was attended by representatives of award recipients, State and local government Members and officers, and members of the Gidgegannup Men’s Shed.
The photos show Stephen Dawson and Darren Klemm with Bruce Williams, President GMS holding the award, and members of Gidgegannup Men’s Shed.
